Resistance Information Empty
PostSubject: Resistance Information   Resistance Information I_icon_minitimeFri Dec 16, 2011 12:58 am

1. Who are the Resistance?

The Resistance are a group of people that work underground to help the citizens of the city to survive. They help them by giving them food, real food, water, shelter, and so forth. They
rarely are seen in District One (The place the CPA patrol usually) and plot against the Combines ideals of human domination.

2. The Resistance sound like awesome people! Where can I find them?

You don't. The Resistance are always hiding from the eyes of the CPA and rarely trust citizens looking for them. The Resistance finds you
at anytime, almost anywhere. They recruit rarely and it's best to leave them alone unless you want a death wish. CPA are always watching
and may grow suspicious of your ideals. Leave them alone and they may find you.

3. Resistance looks so badass though. I bet they have guns and all sorts of things!

Guess what? Your wrong. The Resistance don't have a guy casually selling them the weapons. They only get them if their Black Market Dealer (See the BMD information topic)
if they are lucky enough to have one in their small bag they carry on their backs. Most just look like you and I, normal citizens in the blue uniform the CPA make you wear.
No one of them are armed to the teeth with explosives, rockets, assault rifles, hell, they may get lucky to even hold a 9MM Pistol. They don't have
intentions of fighting the CPA until they are stronger and larger in number.

4. The Resistance sound immortal though!

Many of them die each day by the hands of CPA sweeps. They don't have super powers godlike compared to Superman and
Almost none of them are trained with the small weapons they may have on them. They died beliving that the human race can be free again
and hoping that one day that belief comes true. They can die, and even die out.

5. Wow. The Resistance have it rough.

Correct. They watch friends die in front of them, starve, and wonder when it will ever end. But they won't stop
until what monster they belive they are lies dead in front of them. It's a tough life, but it's worth it
when its for what you belive in.

6. Thanks, Stallion. You opened my eyes on this. I belive in it too!

Good luck on that. Maybe the Resistance will recruit you for your courage.

OOC Rules on Rebels

1.If you die as a rebel, you are Permanently Killed (PK'ed)
2.Do not metagame Rebels, this is an offense.
3.You can create makeshift weapons as a Rebel such as the Crossbow if you have:
A.The right materials to make such.
B.The proper knowledge to make such a weapon.
4.Rebels, don't act like your immortal. Play to lose and if fighting CPA hand to hand, your almost certain to lose.
5.Do not search for Rebels. They will find you in time.
6.Most important! Have fun with the new experience as a Rebel!

Differences between Refugees and Resistance

First, who are Refugees?

Refugees are people that joined the movement of Resistance members but don't directly
involve themselves in their actions. They just go with them when they move to another place. They are
basically people that don't want to fight, and rather hide from the CPA when the Resistance goes to fight them.
Refugees also help the normal populace of the city like the Resistance, to an extent. You mostly only see these people in
the Outlands so they are not being watched by CPA frequently. It's dangerous though, implying that there are Zombies, sometimes Antlions,
and search parties of the high trained Overwatch Transhuman Arm (OTA). They live just as a harder life as the Resistance.

The basic differences between Refugees and Resistance members is that, as stated above, they don't want to fight the CPA, only run.
Refugees usually wear some cotton sweatshirt they made or scavenged for the Outlands to protect themselves from the cold. Resistance
wears usually the same thing, but some wear minor suits of kevlar, but only very few hold onto these. Refugees are fed by the Resistance, who goes out to scavenge food or buy them from their Black Market Dealer, if they are in stock, while the Refugees stick to their 'safe house' and sit around, waiting. Never leaving the camp or the Slums in a city.

To sum it up, Refugees don't fight. Resistance does.

RESISTANCE TITLES

Leader:

The leader of the Resistance influence in the city. They give orders to the ranks under them and is the highest rank in the Resistance.
They are the most wanted by the CPA to be questions and then executed. Sometimes just plain killed on sight. They have the final
say in most occasions, and Resistance members and Refugees look up to him as an idol.

Senior Soldier:

A Resistance member that has been in the Resistance for a long time. They can be an advisor to the Leader and have a group
to lead as a leader.

Medical Soldier:

A Resistance member that has knowledge in the Medical department. They usually have basic medical supplies
and rarely a Bio-kit, which has all the needs for First-Aid. They also have the same authority as a Soldier and they heal Soldiers fallen in battle or
just basically injured by whatever lurks in the Slums or Outlands.

Soldier:

A Resistance member that has been in the game for a bit. They are a basic grunt of the Resistance and listens to the
Seniors for advice and leadership.

Refugee:

A citizen that moves with the Resistance where ever they go. They don't fight, and usually sit back while the Resistance
defends them. They can be recruited if they proved themselves to be useful in the Resistance, and by then they become a Recruit.
They don't know how to use a gun, and usually don't own guns.

This is very good.

And also, it is true, in Slidefuse, I was a citizen for about, eh, one or two months, it was worth RPing as a citizen there because there was actually other players that cooperated and created roleplay, in about one-two months, I found the resistance through my IC friend finding them, I was recruited and became their medic and actually became a server-known resistance member.

This can probably be a part of the official megathread if you add tweaks and add a bit more information to it, like what the difference is between a rebel and a refugee and their type of hierarchy and leadership.
